Frequently Asked Questions

What is BMI?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated from your height and weight to estimate body fatness. Categories: Underweight (<18.5), Normal Weight (18.5–24.9), Overweight (25–29.9), Obese (≥30).
Are metric and imperial units both supported?
Yes. Enter height in centimeters or feet+inches, and weight in kilograms or pounds. The tool converts automatically.
What is a healthy BMI?
A BMI of 18.5–24.9 is generally considered healthy for adults. The tool also shows the exact healthy weight range for your specific height.
How does the Target Weight Calculator work?
Enter a target BMI (default 22) and the tool shows you the exact weight needed to reach that BMI at your current height, plus how much you need to gain or lose.
What is BMR and TDEE?
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the calories your body burns at complete rest, calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) multiplies BMR by your activity level to estimate daily calorie needs.
Is BMI always accurate?
BMI is a useful screening tool but does not directly measure body fat. It may be less accurate for athletes (high muscle mass) or older adults. Always consult a healthcare provider for personalized medical advice.
