About Music Maker

  2. 2Click squares in the grid to turn notes on or off for each instrument.
  3. 3Press Play to start the loop. The highlighted column shows the current step.
  4. 4Drag the BPM slider to change speed, and Swing to add groove.
  5. 5Toggle the Lofi Filter for a warmer, tape-saturated sound.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the step sequencer work?
The grid has 16 steps (columns) and 6 instrument tracks (rows). Click any square to toggle that note on or off. When you press Play, the sequencer loops through all 16 steps at your chosen BPM.
What does Swing do?
Swing shifts every odd-numbered step slightly later, giving the beat a laid-back, human groove. Higher swing values produce a more "shuffled" feel typical of lofi and jazz.
What is the Lofi Filter?
The Lofi Filter applies a low-pass filter that cuts high frequencies, making the sound warmer and muddier — just like a vintage tape recording.
Can I save my beat?
Currently beats are not saved between sessions. Use the presets to quickly load a starting pattern, then tweak from there.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes — the sequencer is touch-friendly. Tap squares to toggle notes and use the controls to adjust BPM and effects.
