About Personal Notes

A fast, private personal notes tool that works entirely in your browser. Create, edit, pin, tag, and color-code notes with auto-save. Search and filter instantly, export individual notes as .txt or Markdown, and export all notes as JSON. No account needed — everything stays on your device.

How to Use

  1. 1Click "New" to create a note — it opens instantly in the editor.
  2. 2Type a title and your note content — changes save automatically.
  3. 3Pick a color from the palette in the toolbar to color-code the note.
  4. 4Pin important notes so they always appear at the top of the list.
  5. 5Add tags at the bottom of the editor and filter by tag in the sidebar.
  6. 6Use the toolbar icons to copy, export as .txt, export as Markdown, or delete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my notes private?
Yes. All notes are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server — your notes never leave your device.
Will my notes survive a page refresh?
Yes. Notes auto-save as you type and persist across page refreshes and browser restarts on the same device.
Can I export my notes?
Yes. Export any individual note as a .txt file or Markdown (.md) file. You can also export all your notes at once as a JSON backup.
How do tags work?
Type a tag in the tag field at the bottom of the editor and press Enter or comma to add it. You can filter the note list by tag using the dropdown above the list.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Clearing localStorage will erase your notes. Export a JSON backup regularly to avoid data loss.
