About Visual Memory Grid

A grid lights up a few cells, then goes blank — your job is to click the highlighted cells from memory. After every cleared level the grid grows: 3×3 → 4×4 → 5×5 → 6×6 and beyond. You have 3 lives per game and your best level is saved locally. Highly addictive — short rounds, fast feedback.

How to Use

  1. 1Click Start. The grid will briefly light up several cells.
  2. 2When the highlights disappear, click the cells that were lit.
  3. 3Click all the correct cells (without a mistake) to clear the level.
  4. 4Each new level enlarges the grid and adds more tiles to remember.
  5. 5Lose 3 lives and the game ends — try to beat your best level.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the grid grow?
The grid starts at 3×3 with 3 highlighted tiles and adds rows/columns as you climb levels. By level 14+ it reaches 6×6, then 7×7 and 8×8 with more highlighted tiles each round.
How do lives work?
You start each game with 3 lives. Clicking a wrong cell costs one life. Three wrong clicks across the run ends the game — your best level is saved.
What does this test?
It tests visuospatial working memory — your ability to hold and reproduce a spatial pattern after a brief exposure. It's a separate cognitive system from verbal memory.
