About Memory Palace Builder

A simple Method of Loci trainer. Pick a room (Living Room, Kitchen, or Bedroom), drop your list of items onto the objects in the room, walk through it for 12 seconds, then recall everything. The same technique used by world memory champions to memorize huge lists — taught with one room at a time.

How to Use

  1. 1Pick a room and list 4–6 items you want to memorize, one per line.
  2. 2Drag (assign) each item onto an object in the room.
  3. 3Click Study and mentally walk through the room for 12 seconds — picture every item on every object vividly.
  4. 4In the recall step, write the items as you mentally walk through the room again.
  5. 5Check your result and try a longer list or a new room next.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a memory palace?
A memory palace (or Method of Loci) is a 2,000-year-old mnemonic where you mentally walk through a familiar place and "drop" each item you want to remember onto a specific object. To recall, you re-walk the path.
Why does this work?
Spatial memory is one of the strongest forms of human memory. Linking abstract items to vivid spatial scenes lets you piggyback on the brain's native navigation system.
Tips for vivid associations?
Picture the items doing something weird with the object — milk pouring out of the TV, a passport stuck in the lamp, batteries burning on the sofa. The stranger the scene, the better it sticks.
How many items can I memorize?
Each room has 6 object slots, so 6 items per round. Memory champions use multi-room palaces with hundreds of loci — start small here, scale up in your real life.
