About Word Sequence Memory

Words flash on screen one at a time — apple → car → moon → river — then you must reproduce the order by picking from a pool of words plus distractors. Four themes: Random, Tech, Games, and Story. Each correct round adds one more word. Best level is saved locally.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the themes for?
Each theme draws from a different word pool — Random, Tech, Games, or Story. Story uses words that fit naturally into a narrative, which can make chaining them easier.
How do distractors work?
When you reach the recall step, the correct words are mixed with extra distractor words from the same theme to make passive recognition harder.
Can I use chaining or association?
Yes — try the Story theme and link the words into a vivid sentence ("the apple drove the car under the moon to the river"). It dramatically improves recall.
